Local body polls: counting on April 9

Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) is gearing up for counting of votes on April 9. The Corporation has already made arrangements for counting according to Election Commission guidelines. The counting was originally scheduled for Wednesday. But, following the Court directions, it was postponed to April 9.

The Corporation conducted training course for the ROs, AROs and assistants on counting on Tuesday. It has also made arrangements to take up counting in two halls. As many as 21 tables have been kept ready in each hall. The counting of votes for 1 to 24 divisions and 43 to 59 divisions’ will be taken up in the first phase. In the second phase, counting for 25 to 42 divisions will be held.
