Leaders of the Left parties and trade unions met at Dasari Nagabhushanam Rao Bhavan on Sunday and decided to hold a solidarity meeting at Old Bus Stand on Monday morning, to express support to the striking RTC employees.

City secretaries of CPI and CPI (M) Donepudi Sankar and Ch. Baburao respectively alleged that the government was trying to suppress the strike by RTC workers who were protesting in a peaceful manner.

They criticised the arrest of the leaders from various political parties who were extending their support to the striking employees.
