People coming to submit their grievances as part of Spandana, the weekly grievance programme, have been put to hardship owing to lack seating arrangements at the Zilla Parishat office here. They are forced to squat in the open garden or even on the main road leading to the office.

CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has rechristened the ‘Mee Kosam’ programme as ‘Spandana’. After the new government took over, the number of people coming to the office to submit their grievances has gone up, officials claim.

On Monday, the number of petitioners touched 552, and last week, 501 persons submitted their grievances. The petitioners are given a computer generated receipt indicating the nature of the grievance, the department and the likely time to be taken for redressal. The petitions are categorised under different departments, and within 72 hours, the petitioners would be given a message of the status of the grievance.

On February 4, 2019, 379 people submitted their grievance and 307 people submitted iton December 15, 2018, said Superintendent, H Section, Sambasiva Rao.
