Krishna leads in pension disbursal

October 05, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:53 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Collector Babu. A on Sunday said that Krishna district stood as a model for other districts in distribution of social security pensions by covering 62 per cent of beneficiaries in the first three days of October compared to 44 per cent at the State-level.

At present a total of 43,34,708 pensions were being distributed in the State, including 3,41,484 in Krishna district.

A total of 3.25 lakh pensions were sanctioned in two months (1.50 lakh in July and 1.75 lakh in September).

Mr. Babu said by linking pensions with Aadhaar numbers, the chances of misuse were pre-empted. Of the 2,10,613 pensions distributed so far, only 598 were not linked with Aadhar.
