Krishna district youth tops Telangana ICET

K. Krishna Chaitanya attributes his success to sacrifices made by his parents

A strong desire to join the Civil Services prompted this engineering graduate hailing from a village in Krishna district to diversify into management education so as to gain a competitive edge. He did it with a bang by securing the top rank in the Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TSICET).

When Kakatiya University announced the results on Friday, his joy knew no bounds as he inched closer to realising his dream.

He is Kollu Krishna Chaitanya, a native of Vanukuru village in Penamalur mandal, who did his B.Tech from National Institute of Technology at Warangal and then started pursuing an MBA degree as part of his larger goal of earning the prestigious tag of IAS or IPS.

Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Chaitanya attributed his success to the sacrifices made by his parents, Hanumantha Rao and Anasuya. “My parents run a grocery store in our village and gave their best for our upbringing. The encouragement I received from my wife Sravanthi is no less valuable. I am indebted to them,” he said.

Asked whether he took any coaching for TSICET, Mr. Chaitanya said he studied on his own.
