The city police busted a five-member gang of inter-State burglars from Rajasthan on Wednesday and recovered 710 grams of gold ornaments and four kg of silver.

Ashok Singh, Narpath Singh, Vikram Singh, Narendra Singh, and Jalam Singh were accused of committing burglaries in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and their home State.

Producing them before the media, Police Commissioner A.B. Venkateswara Rao said all of them served sentences at various towns earlier.

They would break open locked shops and houses and escape with the booty, he said.

Mr. Rao said investigation of burglaries reported in the One Town area recently led to the arrest of the habitual offenders.
