‘Intellectuals have a key role in capital building’

Zilla Parishad chairperson Gadde Anuradha stressed the need for construction of the Capital city of Amaravati and rebuilding of the State in a planned manner. She observed that Andhra Pradesh suffered major setbacks due to bifurcation, and called for cooperation of all sections of society in overcoming the hurdles.

Participating as chief guest in the monthly meeting of city-based voluntary organisation Friends on Same Wave Length (FOSWL) here, Ms. Anuradha said the State was disadvantaged compared to the neighbouring States, which was the reason why Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu sought the assistance of Central government and other organisations and agencies.

“Engineers and intellectuals have an important role to play in the emerging scenario,” she said, while asserting that the government would do its best notwithstanding the baseless criticism by Opposition parties. FOSWL president M. Lingeswara Rao, former MP Chennupati Vidya and others spoke.
