Leaders of Samaikyandhra political and student Joint Action Committees, Chamber of Commerce (CoC) and various civil society organisations and professional bodies have resolved to lay siege to the residences of Central and State Ministers and MPs and MLAs of all parties from August 1 to exert pressure on them for getting the process of carving out separate Telangana stalled.
They also warned of closing down Central Government establishments and offices and taking to legal recourse in the coming days. In a meeting held here on Wednesday, supporters of a unified State criticised Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the CWC and protagonists of Telangana, including TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, for taking the unilateral decision to divide the State. They also laid the blame at the doors of politicians belonging to Seemandhra region for failing to protect the larger interests of the State.
Samaikyandhra JAC leaders P. Narasimha Rao and N. Samuel, CoC President A. Anjaneyulu, YSR Congress leader L. Appi Reddy and others expressed regret that the CWC endorsed the formation of Telangana State without taking public opinion, particularly in Hyderabad where there is a large section of people wanting to stay united.

Besides, the Srikrishna Committee report was thrown into the dustbin. Unfortunately, Congress leaders, especially the Union Ministers hailing from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema, apparently had failed in wielding their clout.
