Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said that he had no objection to invite his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the foundation stone laying of the capital city. However, he did not make it clear whether or not he would personally meet KCR and invite him for the programme.
Speculation is rife that Mr. Naidu would meet the Telangana Chief Minister on October 18.
Answering to the questions posed by the media personnel on this the issue here, Mr. Naidu quipped: “Do you (read journalists) have information that I am going to meet him (KCR) or is it your wish?”
Asked if KCR’s participation in the ground-breaking ceremony will hurt the Andhra emotions, Mr. Naidu reiterated that he was always in for amicable settlement of issues with the neighbouring States. “There is no reason for people to feel emotionally charged on such issues as the State bifurcation is a reality now,” he said.
The Chief Minister further said that it was the Congress which was responsible for the State division and asserted that his government was not for confrontation with others, but for public welfare.
