The ‘Nandana nama samastram' will provide Andhra Pradesh relief from the strife it was facing for the last three years, according to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams official astrologer Prabhakara Purnaiah Siddanthi.

Disclosing what is in store for the State at a ‘panchanga sravanam' held at the Government Music College here on Friday, he said that the names of the three years, that were completed, were by themselves horrifying and they ‘terrorised' the people of the State with all kinds of strife. Nandana nama samastram has joy and happiness in the name and it would be a year of happiness to all.

Asked whether the State and Central governments would continue without any problem, he said according to the planetary positions, the State Government would face some difficulty in October and November, but nothing would happen to it.

He said that youth and women would do well in politics and in their careers this year and the couple of years to come. He said the rainfall was likely to be normal or poor this year. The ‘panchanga sravanam' was organised by YSR Congress district committee head P. Gowtham Reddy.

Dig at TDP MLA

Addressing a press conference earlier, Mr. Reddy decried the remarks made by Krishna district Telugu Desam Party president Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao on party chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

He demanded the MLA's resignation and asked him to get ready for re-election.

He said the victory of the YSR Congress candidate in the Kovur by-election proved the critics wrong.

“It is time TDP leaders stopped their criticism for the people had given their verdict in the Kovur by-election,” he said. “The people of Andhra Pradesh will show their love and affection for Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy at the right time thus silencing the rival political parties forever. This will happen soon,” he predicted.

He charged the TD leader of extending tacit support to the arrack business in his constituency. “Mr. Uma Maheswara Rao is part of liquor and sand syndicates. He has no moral right to criticise YSR Congress leaders.”

Former corporator S. Ramalinga Murthy asserted that his party would get 50 divisions out of 59 in the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, if the elections were held. “Kovur result will be repeated in other constituencies where the by-elections will be held.” YSR Congress leaders L. Sunitha, Y. Srinivas, K. Ratna Kumar, N. Madhu, and Prema Latha were also present.
