Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has said that the government would utilise the services of retired employees in the construction of Capital and in implementing developmental works.

Releasing the diary of the Government Retired Employees Association on Thursday, he said the government would utilise their expertise, experience and take suggestions from them on several issues. The government would sort out the health card and other issues related to pensioners soon. It would also consider the request of the association to allocate lands to construct its office building. Meanwhile, they could function from any of the existing government buildings in the city, he said.

Earlier, association president K. Alfred and general secretary B. Satyanarayana Singh said that the association had a pucca building at Sultan Bazaar in Hyderabad. But, post-bifurcation , Telangana State members were not allowing them to function from there. So, the retired employees from all 13 districts and also those settled in Bangalore were contemplating to carryout their activities from the Capital region, they said.EOM
