Govt. to soon take decision on Anganwadi workers

The Andhra Pradesh Government is taking all measures to address the long-pending demands of Anganwadi workers and helpers. A decision to this effect is likely to be taken during the next Cabinet meeting to be held here on December 16.

The Government is planning to introduce different measures to keep a check on the irregularities and get the Anganwadi society back on track. Efforts are being made to deposit the salaries of employees and staff members directly into their bank accounts, besides introducing biometric system for curbing irregularities. Stringent action would be initiated against those instigating political agitations, authorities informed.

All these aspects were discussed during a meeting with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by Finance Minister Yenamala Ramakrishnudu and others here on Wednesday.

Later, the Chief Minister left for New Delhi to attend the marriage reception of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s daughter, besides meeting Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh. Mr. Naidu will stay in New Delhi and is likely to leave for Bangalore on Thursday morning and from there he will visit Kuppam to participate in the Jana Chaitanya yatra programme. He is likely to return to Vijayawada on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, the Central Government teams, which arrived here on Tuesday evening, visited different districts in the State to assess drought and flood damages. While, one team is visiting Pellakuru mandal in Nellore District to asses the flood damage, one more team is visiting Siriwada village in Bapulapadu mandal and Nandivada village in Gudiwada division in Krishna District to ascertain losses due to drought.
