The State government on Thursday accorded permission to the Chief Engineer, Polavaram Irrigation Project (PIP), for pre-closure of a contract of the agency PSK-HES (Joint Venture) of the package 5A entrusted in 2016 on nomination basis. The work related to Polavaram Left Main Canal is worth about ₹181.87 crore and so far 64% of it worth ₹117 crore has been completed, according to a GO.
Following the recommendations of the Expert Committee constituted by the government to examine and review of the procedure of execution and grounding of works in all the departments, the government accorded permission to the Chief Engineer for pre-closure of the contract and invite fresh bids in reverse tendering process for the balance work of the subject work of package-5A.
