Former Army man shoots mother for property

A former army man shot dead his mother in an incident reported from Kommuru village under Kakumanu police station limits in Guntur District on Wednesday morning.

Bapatla Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahesh said that the accused, Mastan Vali, 47, had shot his mother Fazal Unnisa with a double barrel gun at around 9.30 a.m. outside their house. The woman collapsed on the floor.

Police said that the accused had been harbouring a grudge against his mother over their ancestral property and had been demanding that the house and an acre of farm field be registered in his name.
