The city woke up to a morning filled with excitement for the Prabhas starrer Saaho release being screened across theatres in the city.
Shows to the film began as early as 8 a.m. and most of the theatres had a full house since then. Film enthusiasts were seen in large numbers in front of the theatres, some with pre-booked tickets in their phones, while some desperately standing in lines to get tickets to watch the film on the first day itself.
Jacked up ticket prices
Tickets were going at twice the usual rate. The maximum price was ₹ 300 against the regular ₹ 120. However, many fans were not bothered as they wanted to watch their favourite hero’s film
Outside theatres, groups of men were showering praises for the film in unison. Some said it would be as successful as Prabhas’ last film, Bahubali .
“Prabhas is a brillaint actor. I am an ardent fan of his and I have watched all his films in the theatre. This movie, like every other movie of his, will be a massive blockbuster,” said Harish babu.
Action-packed by Hollywood biggies
What peeked the interest of most film buffs were the action sequences. Directed by renowned Hollywood action directors Kenny Bates and Peng Zhang, known for directing action scenes for films like Rush Hour , Mission Impossible, Ghost Protocol, and Transformers Franchise , the film promised an action packed performance from actors Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor, who played the lead roles.
While many people walked out of the threatres discussing their favourite parts of the film, some exited disappointed, and said that this was below their expectations.
“The film was exceptional. From acting to action, everything seemed complete. All the actors did justice to their roles and the action scenes looked very promising,” said V. Chetan, a second yeear engineering student.
Slow second half
“The first half was very interesting as the plot had each mystery unfolding naturally. But the second half was slow-paced and could have been scripted better,” said N. Sujith, a third year engineering student.
The ₹ 350-crore film released nationwide on Friday in four languages – Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi.
