Are you planning to enjoy visiting a tourist place during summer vacations? Just visit the travel and tourism exhibition being organised by the India International Travel Exhibition (IITE) here to select the tourism spot of your choice.

Colourful paintings and photographs of famous temples, water falls, river and lakes, birds, snow hills and the nature of different places will greet the visitors.

AP Tourism Director Himanshu Shukla inaugurated the three-day exhibition at the Vedika function hall on Friday, in which tourism officers and marketing executives of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and other States have arranged stalls.

“Tourism is the sector which can offer placements to some thousands of people directly and indirectly. People can book the resorts, cottages and the tourist places with just a click online,” said Mr. Shulka, who went round the stalls in the expo.

Tourist hub

In Andhra Pradesh, tourism has a lot of potential and such exhibitions will disseminate information to the tourists on the tourist spots across the globe, the tourism director said. IITE director Anurag Gupta said travel agents, tour operators, hotel managements and service providers from different states were displaying their products and are explaining the tour packages. Public are requested to avail themselves of the facility, he said.

“The theme of the exhibition is to explore tourism potential. The expo will create a one-stop-shop for the public to select their destination for summer holidays, business plans, honeymoon, weekends and other occasions,” Mr. Gupta said.

Foreign tourists

“Tourists from Germany, Singapore, Australia, Spain, Japan, Europe and other countries are visiting Andhra Pradesh. A tour package is planned to Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Konaseema, Vijayawada and Ananthapur for the visitors. The weekday itinerary includes visit to famous tourist places, serving ethnic foods such as Andhra delicious sweets and Rayalaseema ruchulu,” said the director.
