Sale of eco-friendly Ganesha picked up in many parts of Guntur town. Leaders of various parties vied with one another to distribute clay idols of Ganesha. Telugu Yuvatha general secretary Ravipati Saikrishna gave away eco-friendly idols at a programme held at NTR Municipal Stadium. Stalls offering clay moulded Ganesha idols were found in many junctions. At a programme hosted by the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Municipal Commissioner Srikesh B Latkar gave away ecofriendly Ganesha idols to citizens.

Elsewhere, the town wore a festive look as the streets were filled with vendors selling leaves and fruits (patri) of all kinds.
