Decision on venue draws flak

May 31, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:12 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The Congress on Saturday rapped Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for selecting the Benz Circle as the venue of the Nava Nirmana Deeksha.

At a media meet , City Congress president Malladi Vishnu and PCC spokesperson K. Sivaji said at a time people were dying of sunstroke, the Deeksha would keep the government machinery away from its real responsibilities. Heavy traffic is the order of the day at the Benz Circle where two NHs meets. “How prudent it is to choose such a place as the venue ?,” they asked.

It’s a meaningless effort. The CM should have organised it in Amaravathi instead of causing problems to people at Benz Circle. It’s nothing but an exhibition,” said Vijayawada Tax Payers’ Association secretary M.V. Anjaneyulu.
