June 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

AP Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) office would go digital in a month.

The Authority is proposing to digitise every file and paper in the office. The CRDA has entrusted the job to a private agency to scan every hard copy of file and create an e-file. It would be easy for the officials to access the information with a click of button.

According to information, there are more than 60,000 files, including Town planning wing, in the CRDA office. These files are under preservation ever since Vijayawada Guntur Tenali Mangalagiri Urban Development Authority (VGTMUDA), which was replaced by the CRDA, came into existence three decades ago. The process is expected to complete in a month, sources say.

Project office

The CRDA is also making preparations to construct a project office at Thullur. About 30,000 sq.foot area would be built up there. The officials have decided to use pre-fabrication technology to construct the project office. At present, about 100 persons are working from a health centre that has been converted into a CRDA local office at Thullur. It is expected that more than 400 persons would require working space at Thullur office.

The CRDA office near Lenin Centre is also being renovated to suit the requirements. The top floor that used to provide chambers to not more than 20 people, now have working space for 100 persons.
