CPI(M) State secretary P. Madhu has requested Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to do justice to the barbers whom the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) sought to remove on disciplinary grounds.

In a letter to the Chief Minister on Saturday, Mr. Madhu said it was nothing but harassment of the barbers who had been working at the Kalyanakatta for several years.

If charges of corruption levelled against them were to be inquired, the alleged misdeeds of officers of various departments of the TTD should also be investigated, he said.

A substantial number of barbers against whom action was proposed were women who were bread-winners for their families, the CPI(M) leader stated urging the Chief Minister to intervene at the earliest.
