‘CPI ready for merger of Left parties’

May 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:02 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The Communist Party of India (CPI) is ready to sort out issues for merger of the Left parties, party general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said.

“We are ready for discussions. We will wait till a positive response comes from other Left parties for merger,” he said.

Participating in a Meet-the-Press programme organised by Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists here on Thursday, Mr. Sudhakar Reddy said he was hopeful that the unity among the parties could be achieved through a united struggle against ‘anti-people’ and ‘anti-working class’ policies being pursued by the State and Central governments.
