Congress seeks Rs. 10 lakh ex gratia for victims

AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh has sought an ex gratia of Rs. 10 lakh for the kin of those killed in the LPG cylinder blast at Chittinagar.

Mr. Digvijaya Singh and AP Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy visited the blast site on Wednesday. Rajya Sabha member K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao and former TTD Chairman Kanumuri Bapiraju accompanied the Congress leaders. Mr. Digvijaya Singh and Mr. Raghuveera Reddy told the injured persons that they would follow up matters with the government. The PCC chief said the government should announce Rs. 2 lakh as compensation for the injured. The government should bear the medical expenses of the injured and provide housing to those whose houses were damaged, he added.
