Classy look for invitation card

October 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Finally, the invitation card for the grand foundation stone-laying ceremony of the new capital city of Amaravati is ready.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu released the special card in a Cabinet meeting in here on Saturday. Sources indicate that a prolonged dilly-dallying followed by a lot of care and caution has gone into designing this exclusive invite.

Recognising the fact that an invitation sets the stage for an event and so it should be one-of-a-kind and ‘wow-the-guests’ worthy, Mr. Naidu is said to have got it designed specifically keeping in view the magnitude of the spectacle.

The card looks classy and tasteful. The top space of the first page simply says ‘Foundation Ceremony’ in capital letters and at the bottom is written: Amaravati-The People’s Capital’. The second page has an emblem of a lotus medallion from Amaravati stupa. The name of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, as a chief guest on the occasion, will lay the foundation stone for the new capital, figures only on the third page which also has a serene image of a traditional ‘kalasa’ on the top. The rear side of the card has the image of the master plan of Amaravati designed by the Singapore Government.

The event, coinciding with Vijaya Dasami, will witness a battery of VVIPs and VIPS gracing the grand spectacle. Chief Ministers of all states are being invited to be part of the ceremony.
