After months of standing static amid the chaos of Benz Circle, the Trendset mall stirred to life with the inauguration of its multiplex Capital Cinemas by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.

The Chief Minister lit the lamp to mark the inauguration and Union minister Venkaiah Naidu cut the ribbon to get the multiplex going. Actors Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati were present for the opening.

Speaking after doing the honours, the Chief Minister said the inauguration of the entertainment complex was only the beginning of things in Vijayawada.

“A lot more will happen on the entertainment front and more five and six star hotels will come up in the city.”

After the inauguration, the Chief Minister and the Union minister sat down to watch a few minutes of the Rana starrer Bahubali on the new screen.

The seven-screen multiplex is spread over 90,000 sq ft. In addition, the mall is to feature restaurants, a play area, shopping and entertainment zones.
