Christian Bhavan in Guntur soon: says Naidu

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said a Christian Bhavan would be constructed in a sprawling area of more than two acre site in Guntur involving an expenditure of Rs.10 crore.

Participating in “Navyandhra Kosam – Oka Sayantham” programme organised by the Christian community at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here, the Chief Minister said the government was committed to protecting Christian properties.

The government has allocated Rs. 2 crore for the Jerusalem trip to be taken up by Christian community members. In addition this, the government was offering Rs.50,000 financial aid towards the marriage ceremonies of low income groups of Christian community. Emphasis would be laid on construction of cemeteries for the community, he said.

I&PR Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy said a study circle would be established for Christian minorities in Guntur shortly.
