‘Bring back Andhra treasure’

May 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:52 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

“Now that the State is bifurcated and Andhra Pradesh is making a new beginning, we should insist on bringing back our cultural treasure scattered across several places,” said Y. Harishchandra Prasad, Chairman of Malaxmi Group of Industries which has set up the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada.

The newly set up Centre has lined up a series of programmes to promote art and culture in a big way in the new capital. At the end of a seminar addressed by Deputy Speaker Mandali Budha Prasad who spoke at length about the huge treasure trove of art and culture related to the Andhra region lying in a state of neglect, Mr. Harishchandra Prasad urged him to use his good office and try to bring back the large collection of antiquities from Telangana, Tamil Nadu and other States.
