BIA to partner with A.P. in education

Shannon May, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Bridge International Academies (BIA), met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Wednesday and expressed interest in partnering with the State in making it a knowledge hub.

During the meeting, Mr. Naidu sought BIA’s support for strengthening the delivery of early childhood education and primary education in the State. BIA currently trains children in more than 400 academies in Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria. It is the world’s largest and fastest growing low-cost education services provider working with children from underserved communities for pre-primary and primary education.

BIA is backed by leading investors such as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Khosla Ventures and IFC (World Bank Group) among others.

Ms. May told the Chief Minister that the India office of BIA would be headquartered in Vijayawada and later moved to Amaravati.

It will be headquartered in Vijayawada before being moved to Amaravati
