Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam has made elaborate arrangements for the five-day ‘Bhavani deeksha viramana’ from Saturday. The temple authorities are expecting about five lakh devotees to visit the temple for relinquishment of their deeksha this year.
The temple authorities said that they were leaving no stone unturned to provide hassle-free darshan to the Bhavanis thronging Indrakeeladri. From Vinayaka temple on canal road to Antaralayam of goddess Kanaka Durga, the temple has made elaborate arrangements.
Arrangements for free medical care, drinking water, sanitation, lighting, mike announcements, transport, parking lots, free toilets and bathing ghats have been made. Kesha khadanasala (tonsuring place) has been readied near Sitammavari Padalu. Queue lines have been erected from Vinayaka temple on Canal Road. Barricading has been one from Vinayaka temple to toll gate of Indrakeeladri and beyond. Barricading has also been done in Arjuna Veedhi so that the devotees could climb down to offer the material which they carry in their “irumudis” at homagundams.
The devotees take part in giri pradakshina, Chandi homam and viramana. The agni pratishtapana would be performed near Mallikarjuna Mahamandapam, near the foothill of Indrakeeladri on Saturday at 8.30 a.m. Later, the devotees will be allowed into the temple. The ‘homa gundam’ (pit for sacrificial offering) has been arranged near Mallikarjuna Mahamadapam. The Maha poornahuti, which marks the conclusion of Bhavani deeksha viramana, would be conducted on January 2 at 11 a.m.
