Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadde Anuradha on Tuesday directed the district government hospital authorities to begin services of the 150-bed child and mother care wing here. In March, Health Minister K. Srinivas inaugurated the the wing on the government hospital premises apart from sanctioning required strength of doctors and nurses.
Hospital Superintendent Jaya Kumar on Tuesday brought the issue of lack of power supply to the notice of Ms. Anuradha during her inspection. Expressing anger, she directed the APSPDCL (Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited) officials to ensure power supply on a war-footing. Supply of sufficient electricity load to the emergency ward in the child and mother care wing is one of the problems for the delay in offering the services.
The ZP chairperson has asked the SPDCL officials to set up an exclusive transformer for the government hospital to provide power 24x7.
“The State government has provided everything that was sought by the hospital authorities. It is the responsibility of the doctors and administrative staff to offer quality service to the needy,” Ms. Anuradha said.
She inspected functioning of ambulance services, greenery works on the hospital campus and other wards in the hospitals during her visit.
