Auto driver held, 680 gm gold recovered

An auto driver, M. Ravi Kumar, who allegedly drove away with a bag containing 680 gram of gold jewellery, was arrested by the city police on Saturday.

The complainant, Ch. Bramara Deepti, an Non-Resident Indian, had come to the city to attend a wedding.

She boarded the auto to reach a hotel from Gandhinagar on Friday, and forgot to take the bag.

CCTV footage

With the help of CCTV footage, the police team identified the auto and the accused driver.

They seized the gold ornaments from the driver and arrested him, said Police Commissioner D. Gautam Sawang.

The Police Commissioner appreciated the Governorpet police who detected the case by evening.
