Humpy enters wedlock with Anvesh

Amidst the Vedic chants and traditional rituals, World No.3 woman player and Grand Master Koneru Humpy entered the wedlock with Dasari Anvesh, Project Manager (R & D), Efftronics System Private Limited, here on Wednesday.

Over 2,500 well-wishers, friends, relatives, corporate honchos, politicians and sports fraternity from all over the country descended at A- One Convention Centre right from evening to greet the newly-wedded couple.

Dasari Anvesh is the son of Dasari Ramakrishna, who is the Managing Director of Efftronics System Private Limited.

Some of the chess players present at the venue were GM Neeloptal Das, IM Konguvel, IM Lanka Ravi and All India Chess Association official press in-charge Aravid Aaron.

The elite of Vijayawada city, dressed in their best attire, graced the occasion with bride’s (Humpy) father Koneru Ashok and mother Latha welcoming them .

Despite dozens of weddings taking place on the auspicious day, several invitees turned up to greet the young couple. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu called up Humpy over mobile and greeted her.

Prominent persons who attended the high-profile wedding were Minister for Irrigation Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao, TDP MLA Gadde Rama Mohan, ZP chairperson Gadde Anuradha, former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, former Ministers Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao, Devineni Nehru, YSRC leader Koneru Prasad, Congress leader D. Avinash, Krishna District Olympic Association secretary K.P. Rao and former SAAP chairman P.R. Mohan.

According reliable sources, top players, coaches and administrators of chess fraternity are likely to attend the reception to be hosted by the groom’s family on August 17. Players, who are at Norway, representing India in the Olympiad, are also likely to attend the function.
