The Andhra Pradesh Ryotu Sangham will organise a State-level ‘Rashtra bhoo sadasssu’, at Railway Institute here on October 30 to protest the forcible acquisition of lands.

Sangham president P. Ramachandraaiah on Wednesday said that the meeting would discuss the government policies on land acquisition, pooling and land banks.

The State government was gearing up to create land bank involving lakhs of acres in every district.

Small and marginal farmers, Dalit farmers and assigned land farmers would be at receiving end owing to these government policies, he said.

The sangham demanded that the Central and State governments desist from forcible land acquisitions and pooling.

The policy to create land bank for corporate companies should be shelved, he said.

Mr. Ramchandraiah said approval of village sabha should be made mandatory. The government should share the profits out of sale of lands with the farmers who had parted with them.

The State government should also not take up any construction activity without paying the announced compensation to the farmers, he said.
