Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy devasthanam at Ananvaram is going to impose dress code on the devotees, besides revising the norms for booking of cottages.

Executive Officer of the devasthanam M.V. Suresh Babu said on Sunday that male devotees would have to wear dhoti while the females would wear either sari, half-sari or churidar with pallu while having darshan.

“This is to retain the devotional mood on the temple premises and the practice is in vogue at many temples,” he said.

Referring to cottage bookings, he said that biometric system would be introduced to ensure transparency in the allocation of rooms. Devotees would have to give their biometrics twice – during the check-in and the check-out, so that there would be no scope for any misuse, he explained. The cottages would be given only for 12 hours during the festivals and special occasions, so as to provide accommodation to more and more devotees.
