June 19, 2019 12:59 am | Updated 12:59 am IST - AMARAVATI

The mere giving of ₹15,000 per child under Amma Vodi scheme will not make a difference, there is a need to improve the quality of education in government schools, said Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) MLC V. Balasubramanyam.

Speaking at the Legislative Assembly Media Centre here on Tuesday, the MLC said that all government funds would go to private schools if the quality of education was not improved in government schools.

PDF MLCs K.S. Lakshmana Rao and Yandapalli Srinivasula Reddy urged the YSR Congress Party government to bring all political parties in the State together to fight for Special Category Status and take the agitation to New Delhi.

Other PDF MLCs Ramu Surya Rao and I Venkateswara Rao participated in the interaction with the media.
