The All India Youth Federation (AIYF) will conduct a State wide blockade programme at all the District Medical and Health Offices on July 6 announced AIYF State President Navaneetham Sambasiva Rao at a press conference on Tuesday.
He said that this programme was planned in protest against the Government officials who were not providing proper medical facilities to the public in Government hospitals and instead were selling those services to corporate hospitals.
He alleged that the Congress Party was turning these medical facilities into a business. The AIYF President said that due to the lack of proper facilities in local Government hospitals public was forced to go to private hospitals. He added that the Government was not bothered about the condition of the people who were not financially capable to get treated in these corporate hospitals.
Arogyasri
The Arogyasri scheme started by the Government was a good one, but 90 per cent of the Rs.3000 crore sanctioned for this scheme was diverted to corporate hospitals. As a result of this the condition of Government hospitals and facilities in them was deteriorating, he observed.
He demanded that special medical officers with separate teams be created for the 108 and 104 services. He also wanted the temporary employees of these services be made permanent.
A special poster was released to promote and popularise the siege programmes by the AIYF State President and Vijayawada unit President K. Suresh.
