District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Ch. Vijay Kumar explained to the Jyothi and Peturu that it was illegal to adopt a baby without proper procedure and advised them to apply for adoption.
CWC members Balashowry and Jaya Raju said the panel will conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident. They asked the biological parents to submit their marriage proof, birth certificate and medical records of the baby.
“As there has been a financial transaction in the case, an inquiry is required. We will interact with the elders of the biological parents and inquire into the circumstances that led to sale of baby. Till then, the baby will be kept in the government home,” said CWC Chairman B. Nagesh Rao.
