Andhra Pradesh has registered 97% Aadhaar enrolment so far. While the population is 5,25,78,407, the Aadhaar enrolment stood at 5,12,50,387. While 1.7 births are registered for every 1,000 people, 0.75 deaths are recorded. However, children in many places haven’t obtained the birth certificates. It was leading to problems. Aadhaar enrolment would be a problem if there was no birth certificate, according to Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar.

At a review meeting on Friday, the Chief Secretary asked the officials to create awareness on need for obtaining birth certificates. The children who attained age of 15 years have to update their biometric details though they have submitted at the age of 5 years. About 50 lakh people have to update their biometric details in the State, he said.
