Police question suspects in Vijayawada killings

Police probing the sensational case in which three persons of a family were shot dead on the NH-5, picked up a few suspects for questioning. The investigating officers did not rule out the involvement of hired killers from other States.

The Vijayawada police are coordinating with Krishna and West Godavari district police as the crime was committed in a place under the Commissionerate limits.

Teams formed The city police formed six teams to find out who were involved in the murder, how much money was paid to the killers and other details. “The shootout was no doubt related to Durga Rao’s murder, which was committed in March at Eluru. Suspects and eyewitnesses are being questioned in the case. The accused who plotted the killing engaged professionals to execute the operation,” an officer who is monitoring the investigation of the case told The Hindu .
