The Andhra Pradesh State Chapter of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA) has demanded that the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare ensure uniform implementation of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act (PC & PNDT) Act and put an end to the alleged harassment of radiologists on various counts.

IRIA State President Ch. Lakshmana Rao, President-elect R. Raja Reddy and immediate past president T. Rajeswara Rao stated in a press release that clerical errors in Form F, not wearing of aprons, non-display of notice board and not keeping hand book on PC & PNDT Act should not be equated with sex determination and criminal offence.

Ultrasound machines should not be sealed and medical qualification cancelled for minor clerical errors and the gazette notification dated June, 5 2012, regarding the restriction on radiologists visiting more than two ultrasound centers in a district/intimation of change of radiologist and equipment one month in advance should be de-notified or suitably amended.
