Y.V. Krishna Mohan, vice-chairman, the Confederation of Indian Industry Vijayawada Zone, has advised the younger generation of students to identify all the skills that would be relevant to them in their pursuit of careers or their own enterprises. He underlined the importance of cultivating entrepreneurial skills even if one would not like to take up a business but lap up a nice job and make a bright career.

Delivering The Hindu Business Line Club Talk on “Entrepreneurship development”, sponsored by the Karur Vysya Bank, at the P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science, Mr. Krishna Mohan said those having ideas of their own would receive good support from the industry leaders. “It is this entrepreneurial spirit that one has to nurture right from the college days. Companies are promoting intra-preneurship now, which means encouraging employees with fresh ideas,” he said.

Stating that economic revival gave a new impetus to recruitment once again, Mr. Krishna Mohan advised students not to remain contented with good offers from the industry at the end of their study but think of starting off on their own by making use of new ideas.

Entrepreneurship was nothing complex, as it was only about one's ability to welcome new ideas, reduce costs, adopt innovate processes and manufacture quality products. “This kind of spirit is now and then seen in students graduating from premier colleges like the IIMs, he opined.

Karur Vysya Bank Chief Manager K. Nagasubrahmanian said that to promote new and fresh ideas in setting up industries and businesses, the KVB was providing financial assistance. The KVB was providing educational loans too.

P.B. Siddhartha College Principal N. Satyanarayana, Business Management Head of the Department Ramesh Chandra , The Hindu Regional General Manager K. Chandrasekaran and others spoke.
