Man creates a scare in a train

Passengers travelling by Kochuveli-Guwahati Special Express spent anxious moments as a man created a scare by hurling stones at the engine and general compartments in the late hours of Monday. The incident took place at Vejandla railway station near Tenali.

The man identified as M. Murmur, was believed to be mentally challenged. Deputy Superintendent of Railway Police R. Vijaya Paul said that the incident took place at about 11 p.m. when the train stopped at Vejendla for a crossing. The man slipped into the engine when the loco pilot and his assistant were taking a break. Later, he was sent out of the engine.

Suddenly, the man began pelting stones at the engine breaking the glass pane of the engine. He then targeted his ire on general compartments too pelting stones. A couple of passengers standing near the doors were injured.

A police team from Chebrolu overpowered the man and handed him over to Government Railway Police. Cases under sections 324, 427 IPC and section 151 of Railway Act were registered against the accused.
