The Global Stars aerobatic team led by daredevil pilot Mark Jeffries triggered excitement among the people on Tuesday as four aircraft made stunts in the sky, rehearsing for the air show which is to be part of the ‘Aviation Summit’.

In the summit to begin on January 12, aerobatics will be the major attraction. Punnami Bhavani Ghat upstream Prakasam Barrage will be hosting the event.

U.K.-based pilots Tom Casselles, formation leader, Chris Burkett, and Steve Carver along with team leader Jeffries performed stunning manoeuvres and synchronized smoke acts for 15 minutes in the sky above 4,000 metres from the ground level over the Krishna river and the city.

On Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. too, there will be a rehearsal show and the actual and first show will be at 4.30 p.m. on Thursday when the summit will be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The air show also includes display of the four static aircraft models, aerial photography, aeromodelling and aerial pollution monitoring at the ghat. Aerobatics will be held twice a day at 11.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on January 13 and 14. Each show will be for 15 minutes.
