Political parties have come a long way in reaching out to their voters. From social media to 3-D speeches, they made good use of technology during the campaign. But, with the D-day arriving, many politicians have become more superstitious than ever in their bid to win seats. For most politicians, it was a “hectic day” on Tuesday, the eve of election.
From offering special prayers to filing nominations at an auspicious time and checking vastu at their homes, candidates have taken every possible measure for victory at the ballot box.
However, several candidates were not willing to go on record on their religious activities and simply termed them “personal”.
They had even consulted their personal astrologers before fixing the time for filing nominations.
Incidentally, spiritual activity goes side by side with election campaign. Visiting temples was not just on the eve of election, according to close aides of candidates.
Kanaka Durga temple priests say it is very common to see politicians throng the temple during election season. As the model code is in vogue, the priests say, protocol is not offered to candidates.
Just like opinion polls, priests and astrologers have predicted landslide victory for the leaders of their choice. And, they validate their predictions based on planetary and star positions and astrological charts of politicians and parties.
