Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President D. Srinivas has exhorted party workers to strive for 51 per cent votes and not depend on ‘chance’ for winning an election in the future.

Addressing party workers after visiting flood-affected areas in the city and interacting with the victims, he lauded the efforts of the party workers in minimising the impact of the record flood in the Krishna river.

Saying that the cadre should work with the same spirit, the PCC president pointed out that the Congress party came back to power “by chance”. He told party workers not to leave things to chance in the 2014 elections. He cautioned them about the tough times that the party was going to face.

Mr. Srinivas said that the PCC gave a cheque of Rs. 10 lakh towards flood relief and the same would be raised from the party workers.
