The A.P. Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation has invited applications from eligible candidates for availing themselves of benefits under Videsi Vidya Deevena and Kapu Vidyonnati schemes.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, corporation chairman Chalamasetti Ramanujaya said that the corporation would provide Rs.10 lakh assistance to the Kapu students for studying abroad.

The students would have to qualify examinations such as GRE, TOEFL etc and their annual family income should be less than Rs. 6 lakh. A bank loan of Rs. 10 lakh would also be provided.

The students, however, would have to clear the bank loans. The government assistance would be given in two spells. While Rs. 5 lakh would be released in first spell, second tranche would be debited into students’ accounts after they cleared first semester, he said.

The chairman said that Kapu Vidyonnati was another scheme for the benefit of unemployed graduates from the community.

Eligible youth will be trained free of cost to appear for competitive examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC). The government would pay stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month for a year. Travel expenses would also be given if they opt for institutes at Delhi other places, he said.

Mr. Ramanujaya said that the eligible candidates would have to submit their applications online by visiting the Corporation website.
