K.V. Iyer, Dean of Unitedworld School of Business, Hyderabad campus, has said that management graduates and young managers from India are in increasing demand all over the world in view of their wide-ranging skill-sets, including that of good English communication capabilities.
‘Global flavour'
In this open economy, more opportunities are emerging for Indian graduates and the Unitedworld School wants to be actively involved in preparing the young generation for this, he added.
“We are opening a campus in Hyderabad from this academic year. We will offer two-year post-graduate diploma in management. Our curriculum and instruction will give a global flavour and understanding to the students,” says Mr. Iyer.
A former student of Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, he has worked with the Birla Group before taking the plunge into the management education.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Iyer said that the Unitedworld School already had campuses at Kolkata, Mumbai and Ahmedabad, which were opened last year. Two more campuses were coming up in Hyderabad (Jubilee Hills check-post) and Gurgaon, while an international campus would also be opened this academic year at Singapore, where there was huge demand for management education from students coming from China, Singapore and surrounding countries.
Himanshu Sarma, Director (finance), Unitedworld School, said that they believed in the concept of giving total value to students through their educational programmes at their school and the whole instruction would be aimed at producing globally acceptable students at the end of each programme. He claimed that theirs was the first open economy school in management going by the fact that they were preparing students for international business environment.
The Unitedworld School was currently on a roadshow to publicise their programmes in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, as there was a huge potential for management education from local students. They were expecting an intake of 100 students at their Hyderabad campus from this academic year.
The only PG diploma in management course also includes a three-week study visit to their international campus at Singapore. Lots of students from coastal areas, particularly Krishna district, had made it big in management education, and the Unitedworld would make more efforts to create awareness about their programmes in this area in the coming days, they added.
