Accused molested many girls, say police officials

The bizarre behaviour of Sidde Sanyasi Raju, who was arrested on Sunday on the charge of paedophilia (detaining and sexually assaulting girls) and the subsequent blow-by-blow revelations of the abused children left the Patamata police dumbstruck. The accused had been resorting to the beastly act for the past few months.

“The 39-year-old man was a compulsive paedophilic. He jad molested many girls in the age group of seven to 10 years, including girls of his relatives. Raju used to threaten the hapless children with dire consequence if they revealed to others,” said the investigating officers.

On April 7, the residents of Subash Chandra Bose Colony, in Enikepadu, caught hold of the accused, while he was trying to misbehave with a girl and handed over him over to the Patamata police. The accused, who was staying in the same colony, was working in an automobile shop.

The accused befriended the innocent victims while they were returning home from schools and tuitions. He used to take them home when his family members were away, on the pretext of offering chocolates and biscuits and molest them.

“The accused took nude photographs of girls. He gets sadistic pleasure by touching the private parts of the victims,” said Patamata Sub-Inspector B. Lova Raju, who is investigating the case.

During investigation, it was revealed that the residents suspected his behaviour and told the family to leave the colony.

“We seized his mobile, but he had deleted all the photographs. Police so far enquired two girls and their family members in this case. The accused was produced in a court on Monday”, said Mr. Lova Raju.
