ANU Youth Festival inaugurated

Classical dances performed by students at Acharya Nagarjuna University premises in the Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival on Tuesday was a soothing experience. The girls, trained artistes, combining graceful movements with a classical touch, had the crowds on their feet and drew applause from the judges.

The dancers from DSVRM College, Nagaram, Government Women’s Degree College and Hindu College, Guntur, displayed their prowess in the classical dance with a flawless performance. The performance had everything, poise, balance in footwork and grace in their bodily movements. They even performed the difficult task of dancing with a pot winning the applause of everyone in the audience.

Inaugurating the youth festival, Ponnur MLA Dhullipalla Narendra said that youth festivals bring out the best from students and appealed to students to make use of the facilities at the university. ANU Vice- Chancellor K. Viyanna Rao and Registrar P. Rajasekhar were present.

Inside the Balamohandas Auditorium, seminars and debates were held. The special feature of the youth festival was a series of thought provoking skits and one-act plays.

University O.S.D and convener of the youth festival Dattaterya said that competitions in quiz, debate, classical dance and instrumental percussion were organised on Tuesday.
