5 TS cops held with NDP liquor

Prohibition & Excise police arrested five policemen from Telangana for carrying non-duty paid liquor with them here on Friday.

The five Armed Reserve (AR) policemen from Nalgonda – K. Veera Babu, J. Venkateswarlu, P. Somaiah, T. Ravi Naik and C. Saidulu – after completing a prisoner escort trip to Visakhapatnam, made a detour to Yanam to pick up some ‘cheap liquor’.

However, they were flagged down for a check at Tallarevu in East Godavari district by an excise police party at the Sunkarapalem excise check-post. As many as 30 liquor bottles, along with their vehicle was seized, Prohibition & Excise Director E. Damodar said. A case has been registered under Section 34 (a) of the AP Excise Act.
