As many as 40,699 candidates will appear for the Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) - 2015 at 81 centres in the Vijayawada region on May 8. Elaborate arrangements are being made for the smooth conduct of the examination.
In all, 23,069 candidates are taking the test for the engineering stream to be held between 10 a.m and 1 p.m. and 17,630 are taking the medicine stream, which will be conducted from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. To avoid malpractices, officials are deploying 50 observers, 33 enforcement officers, 12 special observers and 1,700 invigilators.
“We have already identified few problematic centres and are making arrangements like installation of mobile phone jammers accordingly,” said A.V.Ratna Prasad, Regional Coordinator, EAMCET, here on Wednesday.
Candidates have to affix their fingerprints on the attendance or nominal sheet in front of the invigilator, and it will be tallied during admissions.
In the case of SC/ST candidates, they should carry the true copy of the caste certificate attested by a gazetted officer. They should also carry a filled-in application form, Mr. Prasad added.
Candidates will not be permitted into the examination centres beyond 10 a.m in the morning session and 2.30 p.m. in the afternoon session. They are requested to be present at the respective centres well in advance. There will be no time relaxation, he said.
In view of the RTC strike, Mr. Prasad said the district administration would operate private buses for the convenience of candidates. EAMCET key will be released on May 10 and results will be declared on May 26, he added.
